    Re: 8100 OS Upgrade Problems

I'm getting a browser opening on restart. It tries to go to a page and then returns an error "unable to connect to the internet. please try again later" I have to hit escape (red power button) to make it go away, then everything is fine.

    Any ideas?

yep..think this was an issue with the TIM OS...
i think if you delete a service book (not sure which one YET) it will fix it...lemme go searching

do you have jivetalk installed too by chance?

It's probably because you are on Tmobile and it is trying to download the IMplus program (or whatever it is called). Go to your service books and delete it from there. Not sure it will solve it permanently or not... search the board here it has been an issue for others before.

    Re: 8100 OS Upgrade Problems

Yes, i do have JiveTalk installed but it is working perfectly. So is the browser after I close it but I can't close it with the return key. I have to use the esc key.

I had to do a wipe to install this OS since I got the dreaded 532 error after the first install. I think it might be the T-Mob IMPlus issue. I don't use it so I didn't install it and now T-Mob wants to install it for me. Can you tell me how to delete those particular books?

look under Options / Advanced Options / Service Book - see if there is one for IMplus

The only book with IM in it is "T-Mobile USA IM Client Application"

    You think that's it?

    Re: 8100 OS Upgrade Problems

    Hi everyone!
I just registered finally. I just upgraded with the new Rogers OS and after registering my handheld to the wireless network and double checking it again through the host routing table, I still don't have my broswer back. I've reset my blackberry twice. Anything else I can do to get the browser back? Thanks!
