    8100 Goes Blank - only red light blinking

    My 8100 is about 7 days old and every other day or so goes blank with only the red light blinking. Removing the battery sometimes gets it rebooted. anybody seen this or know what's up?

    What size memory card do you have in it?

    it would be the default memory card as I have not added one since purchase. I don't believe there is a mini sd card in it if that is the memory card you are referring to. I don't believe it came with one. Is it a memory issue? Thank you for your quick reply.

    Try browsing through the forum a little more....You might find what you need to resolve the problem

    sorry - meant micro sd - does not have a micro sd card in it.

    I have seen the javascript error that is referred to and reportedly fixed by the latest update. I can't get the phone to come back up this go around so haven't been able to make the update. thanks

    305Spin, Welcome to PinStack.

    How long after removing the Pearl from the charger does this occur? Could it be the low battery shutoff? Don't know how the Pearl responds to low power. If it's not a low power problem, then then next step is reloading the OS. If your PC can't connect to your BB, use the procedure listed in the
    How To: ReInstall OS When Computer Won't recognize The Device Is Connected Thread to reload.

    Thanks for your help. I did get the phone to reboot finally today. Plan to install the update now. The one thing that is interesting is that the date and time of the phone when it did come back up was exactly the same as when it went down. Battery life on the phone was good before it went down.

    Follow this thread and reload the operating system. If you do not the issue will return. This is a software issue that cannot be solved by anything less then reloading the software.

    Thank you... Now i have viewed the stack and it does not say what i need to do. I read that there is a javascript error and i can update the phone with a new OS. I just installed the 4.2 SP2 and it still is doing that same thing...8100 goes blank and does not boot up. PLease help.

    Did you run through the application loader?
