    8100 camera opinion

I've upgraded from a now relatively ancient Sharp GX30.The camera and pictures taken , then shown on screen , seem so much better than on my Pearl(which I love) I havent altered any settings , just point and click but the pix seem mediocre at best and in normal indoor light seem very poor.

    Any thoughts?

Adjust your picture resolution in the camera settings. Also I prefer not to use the auto white balance. I manually set for lighting conditions; indoor, outdoor, night, etc. Hope this helps

Although, higher resolution takes more storage space. Just so you know

Go to camera>options> and change "picture quality" to superfine. It will take up more space on your phone but the quality will be a lot better. Also as j_llama said, you can change "white balance" to wherever you are taking the pic and it will help the picture to look better.

    Hope this helps,

there is no way that you can possibly compare the quality of the taken picture from your pearl with the Sharp GX30...although it is an ancient phone...but Sharp has a great reputation with the their gorgeous screen and camera.......!!! no matter what the setting is...it wont help a lot!!

Try going to the camera>options> and changing "picture quality" to superfine. This will take up more space on your phone but will make the pictures look a lot better.

In my opinion if you want to take pictures, use a digital camera, that is what they are designed to do.
The cameras on cell phones are really just a novelty, although they are starting to get pretty decent.
As far as the pearls camera, set it to superfine as everyone has said and it will take half decent pictures.

It's interesting that this comment is made as I never had an issue with the camera on the pearl. I was actually quite impressed with the indoor and the outdoor quality.

    Hmmmm
