I did that all step by step but while running, it said unable to reconnect...I never touched anything and made sure everything was connected properly before doing it.

If you are running xp go to programs/add remove and see what DM you are running. Also make sure the OS you want to install is downloaded and installed to your PC.

Sorry the OS is operating system. It has to be installed to your PC before you can use it to upgrade your device. Who is your carrier?

os is the software that is on your phone and device manager is the software that is on your computer that you connect to your blackberry with. Try taking out your battery and while installing the os put your battery back in when you get to the step where it says reconnecting to device.

Well, if anyone is wondering I fixed it.

I followed those directions that I posted in my first post exactly, like I had before. But this time I deleted DM and the OS from my comp. Then went from step 1.

    Worked like a charm.

BB is up and running now.

My phone was resurrected from the dead. After a few days of wiping the OS and trying to re-install the apps with brick walls, my phone lit up with the 'no apps' error messages. HOPE! So I did the whole process over again and with patience it worked! I hate the newest version, though. But I saved my phone when I was just about to give up!
