    4.5 Firmware on T-Mobile Pearl?

Hi all. Quick Questions. I have a T-Mobile Blackberry Pearl 8120. I want to install the new firmware update I see named 4.5.??.?? something. But when I install it and open it up, It tells me I need a diffrent Desktop Software for my phone.

    1. Does this update only work for AT&T Blackberry?

    2. If I unlock my Pearl 8120...will the update then work?

    3. Or am I screwed? No update for me?

    No

Yes ... but unlocking is not required

    No
Install the latest desktop software (4.6) and the latest handheld software for 8120 (remove vendor.xml) and then install. There are many threads on this forum which explain the installation process in greater detail.

I have the 4.6 DM...when I try installing the latest Firmware 4.5, it just simply tells me I have the latest Firmeware installed, but when I check my blackberry options, I still have 4.3.115? I even deleted the vendor.xm file like instructed...doesnt work for me :\

And yes I have looked at the forum instruction on how to install in greater detail. Unsuccesful.

did you uninstall the 4.3.115 os from your computer prior to installing 4.5? If not, uninstall all OS packages restart the computer and install the 4.5 package, then follow the instructions to remove the vendor.xml file. and thenconnect your bb and start DM. hope that helps

Just wondering why the guy at the Tmo store today told me that 4.5 was officially released on the 20th and even went to a computer to verify this yet I cannot see a 4.5 for download on their website!

Well that sucks. Does this mean it won't work on the 8120?

If the os you use is working why upgrade. Unless there is chagr in functions I think we will be ok. Ice heard about a lot of bugs with the newer os. I'm guessing tmo is working out the bugs.

I don't think I'll be upgrading until the reboot issue is worked out. I am someone that relies heavily on my BB during my rotation so having the phone reboot in the middle of something important is just not something I can deal with. Stupid Tmo.

I don't think TMO will ever officially go to 4.5 until they're dragged kicking and screaming in. The YouTube support alone will kill their network. They'll get 4.5 when their 3G network goes live.

I'm running ORANGE 4.5.0.69 on my TMO 8120. No serious issues.... yet.
