3rd party software question for the 8100

I am sorry if this has been asked before.. but i downloaded the color track ball and the x-player software from x-berry soft .. my question is why does it ask me

"the application xplayer is attempting to access phone logs.
would you like to allow access?"

same thing for the color track ball program

i click no and it aborts program ..

i would just like to know if this software is safe to use or is this some kind of spyware or soemthing that is going to screw up my phone ..

thanks everyone - Justin from Ohio <---- new to the blackberry

Re: 3rd party software question for the 8100

I remember reading someone else ask this and they stated it was normal because it interacts with the phone - but doesn't really do anything with the logs. It needs to access the phone so it knows when the device rings.

If I'm wrong someone else will update us... I never used either app.

    Oh and welcome!!

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
I had the exact same problem with both of those applications and all I had to do was uninstall and reinstall them and it stopped doing that. BUT I eventualy had to remove the color track ball for good cause it drained my batt big time.
