if you send it back in with the .71. you could always wipe phone and then downgrade back to .64, but then again, that's a process in itself.

i got tired of waiting on t-mobile to release .71 so I just took it off Cingular and installed.

oh the update is super easy. you just run the program with the pearl unplugged. Then just plug it in and it does it all by itself. even backs everything up and all that jazz.

    here it is

but if you use this one you have to delete the vendor.xml file

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader folder, highlight the file vendor.xml and press the delete key.

Do this after you install the cingular one, if you use the cingular one.

ok, so i upgraded the new tmo os. i thought that autodim wouldnt effect me, however its starting to driveme nutz! is it worth it? i hate having to look even closer now, its already small as is. i hope they change it back with a newer version. so my question is, does anyone have the link to the old os, jus in case i wanna go back cuz its driving me crazy. also. what are the new advantages with the upgraded version. so far i notice that my standby actually works, and my 2gb card now works. but thats about it. One more thing if i went back to the my original version, could i use the 1 gig card without this damm autodim forever thing. I NEED BRIGHT LIGHT. (sorry jus venting) .

I did warn you...LOL. Actually the auto-dim is nice. You will get use to it I promise. It will save you battery life in the end. There should be some threads out there with the old OS. I don't think it's worth it, the new OS does fix some bother some bugs. .71 is even better. I guess to each his own.

Yeah I was going to order my san disk 2gb off line but then happened to be in CompUSA last night and saw that they had them on sale for 39.99. I figured that was a good enough price to fufil the American instant gratification and get it in my hands right then! I'm loving it so far.
