who's the carrier? What are you upgrading to? Gps is free if the phone is enabled with it. What costs you is the data. Get an unlimited data plan and your set.

its definitely worth it. i did exactly that when i was only into 1 yr into my 2 yr 8320 contract. cost me about $450 but they break it down into 4 payments. i love the gps. it works great with the free talking gps program called amaze gps. using gps and wifi together makes the battery run down twice as fast on the 8900 than with the 8320. just complain to tmobile and they'll send you a free extra battery. also it plays divx videos, which eliminates having to convert avi's to mp4 format before loading them to the bb. the 8900 has over 100mb of built in memory so you wont have to keep deleting apps to free up space, like you had to do with the 8320. the 3.2 mp camera is better also. purchase the 8900 and sell the 8320 to a friend and use it as a down payment. LOL

I love this phone. I had them bill the phone to my monthly bill also. The resolution on the 8900 is 10x better! The processor smokes the 8320. Buy the phone!

I went from an 8100 to an unlocked 8310 on TMO to the 8900 -- LOVE it! The processor is quicker, more memory, much better resolution. TMO has a 4-month payment plan to reduce the pain of the price. We got 2, and both my wife and I are very happy!

As for the battery issue go to the http://Seidio.com website and check out the 2600 or 3600 extended life battery. Go from 5 hours talk time to 10 hours.

The 8900 is an awesome device. The gps works great and the screen is awesome. Even though I switched to a g1 I would recommend the 8900 to anyone.

Its definitely worth it! I have the unlimited minutes for $49.99 plus the unlimited data plan for $20 and text message is optional. Life is definitely good on the 8900. [*_*]

I own an 8900, had an 8320. I would advise not to YET. Within 6 months you should be able to get a Blackberry from T-mo with UMA, Wifi, and 3G. Since you appear not to be an "early adapter" nut like me, I would hold off until the 3G BB"s come out from T-mo.

That's if T-mobile offers 3G in your area.
