Go into the profile and click edit, then verify under the messages setting or the Phone setting that Vibrate is selected as an option and not just "tone only".

This happened to me before on my old 8100. Instead of vibrate, I would get this quiet high pitch noise. I called ATT, and they had me backup my phone, then completely wipe it. It fixed my problem.

this happens on my crismon att 8310 on tmo. id say about once a month for two to three days. like described above i also get the high pitched wine. my only fix is a few slap to the hands with the phone and ride it out. it usually works within a day or two.

Slapping the phone totally worked. I have a Curve 8310 and I slapped it against my palm and then the vibrate started working again. I can tell it's weaker than before, but it beats buying a new phone.
