Wont DELETE an email
i am trying to delete an Outlook email from handheld and will not delete. It is an old email that just appeared. it is no where on my desktop
please help. Thanks. Ryan
did you happen to check your saved emails just to see if its there and if so delete it from there.
if you hit delete and it confirms but does not disappear you could try doing a battery pull...if it still does not disappear you may have a corrupt messages database and you may need to clear the messages.
You may have a corrupt mail database on your BB. Use your desktop software and back up your in-box (you may as well do a full back up) and then delete the in-box from the device. That will be the right hand frame in the software. To confirm the delition you will have to hit the refresh button just under the frame.now restore back to the device (from left frame back to the right). Now you should be able to delete it from the device if it is still there.
the back-up worked. thank you very much for the detailed info
one thing though. when i tried to restore the messages back to the device, it said not enough memory space.
Will give you your memory status
Check my blog for tips on freeing up memory if needed!
Ryan, I don't see what device you are using so I'll need to talk in generalities. Make sure that you are not saving photos, music or videos to your device directly. If you have a newer BB that takes a memory card, get one and use it! One other symptom of low memory will be the BB pruging call logs (history) and e-mail dropping off of the device prematurely. Also, try to avoid switching between applications without closing them down. Some of the BB OSes have had memory leaks that fail to release memory properly. The only way to get it back is a battery pull. RIM have tried to fix this in newer software releases so make sure your OS us up to date.
GaryF's blog has a link to Reddog's very instructional guide to Blackberry memory management. Check it out if you haven't already.
