    Who picked up their AT&T 8900 today and where?

    Still waiting for my local Jax, FL store to open.

    Called yesterday and asked if it would be for sale and you could tell the sales person was clueless!

    I called 3 of my local AT&T stores plus a Best Mobile Mobile store yesterday. Only one said they may be getting a shipment later in the day. One said late June/early July and the others said soon or next week. I'll give it a shot again today and report back.

    They are given little to no information. A box comes in from FedEx or UPS and that is how they know they got them.. Little fan fare or anouncements anymore. No training to say the least.

    Yes, I know you can order on line but I am one month from an upgrade and have had them "bend" to upgrade rules a little at the company store where on the Internet there is no provision to bend the rules. I have no problem in the wait, it could be next week before they get the 8900.

    Just letting you know. I didn't know if the phones are only gonna hit major cities and states first or what was happening. All I know is in maine, they are certain that the phone will be release in the store in July.

    I will call my at&t store here in Michigan in a bit and find out if they have one. I don't want to pay that much for it. So I will let you know what they say

    A little off topic, but I thought early upgrades were only done through customer care and not through other channels like online and in the corporate stores. I was able to get an early upgrade (did not purchase a new device yet, but my account is noted) through customer care. They said I could only get the early upgrade through them.

    Me - Do you know when you will have it in stock

    I called my store and they indicated that it "could" come in today. They were told late in the day yesterday that it would arrive shortly for sale.

    Told me to call in after 3pm as their usual delivery comes in around 2

    I have never talked to customer care. The sales poeple at the company stores have always done what they can. There are hard set rules as how close you are to end of contract. I think they have little choice. Most people do not know the rules can be bent. It never hurts to ask as the market is very compettitive these days.

    I called back one store and they just got a shipment of 8900s in. Yes!!! But I may not be able to get in there today or tonight. Maybe tomorrow morning.Another store said to call back later because their shipment was not in yet.

    My store in Jacksonville called me the second they cam in the door. Walked out the door at about 1:45 and have move from my Bold to the 8900.

    It comes with v4.6.1.231 for it's OS.

    I like it.

    They only thing I do not like is that I had ordered the OEM belt holsters with swivel clip and it fits into the holster so tight it is useless! WTF are you thinking RIM? I need to get to my phone quickly and with ease and I will tollerate tugging and pulling to get it out of the holster!
