Most of the time when you have the most updated OS on your device, it's better. Sometimes new features have been added or bug fixes.

And yes your curve is compatible with any OS from different provider, as long as they are for blackberry curves. Just make sure to delete the VENDOR FILE.

I'm on ATT with the original .89 OS. I have the calendar patch and everything is working great.

Don't want to mess with a perfectly running 8300 now after I've read those stories about possible errors or problems with new OS installations.

+1. Ive upgraded devices in the past where one upgrade was great and the next bricked it. After updating my Garmin Nuvi through about 20 updates over the past 2 yrs I figured Id stay with the one update that worked perfectly for me.

Gonna do the same with this phone. Let all you be my guinea pigs instead of me jumping into the pool first.

Seems to be a pretty close race between .89 and .114. =( I was really hoping for a landslide here.

I'm using Optus 114, again due to the original (pre-patch) calendar reminder issue. I've had no problems since I upgraded.

I am also operating Optus OS. Runs great on my curve! I have no calender issues and my PTT still works. I was told with Optus I lose my PTT but not true. Everything works like my at&t OS but only better!

Optus 4.2.2.114 on AT&T. I followed the tutorial on getting rid of PTT and unlocking themes, and it works fine. No PTT and extra themes. I upgraded because I wanted the latest OS.

Re: Which OS are you using?

Can someone please attach a link to directions [explicit directions please ] on how to download and install the latest OS? Can you also include a link to the newest OS as well as the Rogers OS (in case I have to go back to it)?

I'm a noob at this so thanks in advance.
