What should I add to my 8310!!!

    Hey gang,

Just wondering what kind of apps I should add for my 8310. I've already added googlemaps, amAze, empower HTML viewer and a trial of eOffice.

What has everyone found that is useful and adds to the functionality of the BB?

    1) I am looking for a good document/PDA viewer that's free.... eOffice is a little too expensive. In fact, RIM should enable all the BB's to view & edit docs in their original forms. Anyways, editing docs isn't as important as being able to clearly see my clients attachments.

    2) The other thing I'm looking for is a better media player. The one that came with it is fine, but looking for something that has a bit more features. Not looking to turn my BB into a iPod, but some of those functionalities would be a definite plus.

    3) Finally, what's the best GPS program out there?

Thanks in advance to everyone & ALOHA!!!

    1) Unfortunately the only document program I know of is eOffice, but be aware that you can view most document attachments.

    2) I find the native media player to suffice. It can use play lists, and can shuffle (see the Help file). I save my MP3's in subfolders (by artist) under a Music folder in the root of my SD card, and only keep RELATIVE play lists created with Playlist Creator 3 in the BlackBerry\Music directory. It makes loading music a LOT faster than trying to scan 100's of MP3's!

    3) Click the link in my sig and look for w/GPS at the end of the line. (Live Search supposedly supports GPS, but it doesn't work on my 8800 yet)

Can you give a little more information on how to use (or even open) playlists in the media player?
I don't see anything about playlists under help.

    Thanks!

added mapquest and amAze. Seems like mapquest is the better of the 2 and it's a lot faster. Googlemaps for most of what I need and mapquest for fully voiced turn by turn nav!!!

Anyone else know of a nav program that's close to or better than mapquest that also has voiced turn by turn?

Don't know of any free other than mapquest, I just got Telenav and although it is $9.99/mo
on my plan, it is definitely a sweet app to have! The voice and turn by turn is awesome

for using Playlists and Playlist Creator 3.

    See this post:

for a more detailed look at using relative playlists.

I stand corrected about playlists being documented. The only place playlists is mentioned in all the documentation and technical literature I could find is here:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/searc...200%2032333244

I must have just tried it and it worked, and assumed it would be documented somewhere!

I just recieved my ATT 8310 (with gps). My first BB in quite some time. I had a Treo and an HTC. I put on Google Maps, Yahoo to go and Windows Live. In very initial tests, Windows Live (who knew) seems to be fairly fast, but definately the easiest to use with the GPS.
