    Verizon.net POP issues

    Hey all,

I have put my gmail account on my phone but the verizon.net pop server system is wayyyy more complicated. There are many fields that it asks to be filled in and I am pretty clueless about what they ask for. ( i tried to post it below) Has anyone ever done this and can maybe walk me through?

I check around for some forums about it already and didnt see any, maybe there is one out there that you can point me to, thanks!

    POP Server Name:

    POP User Name:

This is NOT necessarily the same as your Email and More user name.
    POP Password:

    POP Full E-mail Address:

Your full e-mail address on the POP server. Any replies or forwards of e-mail retrieved from this account will appear to be from this address by default.
    POP Full Name:

The full name associated with this account.
    Server Timeout:

Number of seconds to wait for response from this server.
    Server Port Number:

    This is conventionally 110.
    Message Disposal:
Leave messages on the POP server.

    Destination Folder:
    Save messages in
    Inbox Drafts Sent SpamDetector Trash
    Create a new folder

Messages retrieved from this POP account will be saved in the specified folder.

i'm not sure what you're trying to do.

Are you trying to setup your BIS account?

    Re: Verizon.net POP issues

OK, I'm half-sleep while typing this, but here goes :

    POP Server Name - incoming.verizon.net

POP User Name - vz?????? (the name that Verizon generated for you when you joined the service)

POP Password - the password you use to access the account

POP Full E-mail Address - vz??????@verizon.net (TIP - if you set your email address to be your first name and last name @verizon.net, you can use this instead)

POP Full Name - Your first name and last name

    Server Timeout - generally 120

    Server Port Number - 110

Message Disposal - Typically, you want to leave this set to Yes, so that you can download a permanent copy of the email to your computer.

Destination Folder - You can set this to the Inbox, but if you want your Verizon messages to go to another folder, create the folder and select it as the destination for those messages.
