Still showing just the 10.2 mb file.
Color---it's nothing but a hue of the rainbow...why do people place such importance in it?

Dang, I'm hoping to try this on my 8300 before I trade up for the 8320 next week.

    *edit*
Ok, it seems to be downloading the whole file for me now. It's says xxx of 81MB and it's past 10.2MB. If it's still not working for others I can post it somewhere for download.

I downloaded it too with no problem. But the dm didn't recognize the updated software. What do I do?

    i was afraid of that

i was helping someone this afternoon try to figure out how to get a 8820 OS on his 8800 ... although, his not working makes more sense...his ORIGINAL OS is 4.2.1 and the OS for the 8820 is 4.2.2

but for the curves, should be compatible.

question...for those who have the 8320 and have successfully downloaded, does DM recognize it for you? i am wondering if its still a DM issue (considering that everyone on the 8310/20 are having issues using app loader to load alx files)

[quote=CustomDuals]You need to set the custom settings for the sync to work in DTM - I finally got it to work that way.

For a handheld operating system upgrade, just wipe your handheld and it will send you the new updated program. That's how I got it.

Still, it was a little confusing to get the Sync working.

Third part apps still won't install - I have a file I store on the media card with all the OTA's that I use which make it pretty quick to get things back up to speed.

(my appologies if the images go to large)

That will bring you to here - once you configure OUTLOOK, it will sync properly.

Now, if they'll fix the third party apps - it'll be great!

ok, so for the 8300 users, its not working
i uninstalled the latest curve OS from my PC, installed this one, deleted the vendor.xml file and open DM...nothing
when launching apploader, there is no 'core system apps' that show in the windown of 'installed apps'

    *sigh* what a total bummer

did you have any other 8300 OS installed to your PC? if so, you would need to delete that first...

Arrrgggggh! I was afraid of this! What a shame - the code is probably 95% the same, most likely with just a couple of modified modules to deal with the WiFi chip. With a bit of good design, it could easily have been a single piece of code.

Possible that it still will work -- if the right tweaking is done to the files. Have you taken a look at all the ALX files? Possible, for instance, to start from the "program files/common files/research in motion" subdir and search for any reference to "8320" within any of the files from the directory down. You might find a config or ALX with 8320 references that can be tweaked to "8300". Might be worth a try...
