so here's the deal. I upgraded my curve to 4.5 about a month ago, and when i upgraded, my phone went slower, service was not as good. so i downgraded to 4.2. Now when i try to upgrade back to 4.5 my phone or desktop says that i am running the most recent software. Any help? i dont know what to do.

This is a simple one. You will have to remove the 4.2 software so the desktop manager does not recognize it as the most current software and the 4.5 will be the primary again if you still have it.

Also be sure you delete the vendor.xml after download of your 4.5 OS so DM recognizes the upgrade if using a different carrier OS than yours.

On your PC go to add remove programs and 4.2 should show on the list and just click on it and hit uninstall.

Cowboy was suggesting you need to remove the 4.2 Device software from your PC using the Control Panel.

Quick Question - after you downloaded the 4.5 OS did you ALSO install it on your PC and then delete the vendor.xml file?

Another thing Cowboy taught me is go to your PC control panel, add/remove programs and remove your old OS for device... Not desktop manager. I don't know if anybody told you that yet. I just went through this yesterday. Cowboy and Lavagirl saved me a big haedache

First delete old OS then download and install new OS.Go to control panel to make sure you really installed the OS you wanted. Delete vendor code that Cowboy mentioned. StartBB desktop manager. Hook phone up, DM should see needed upgrade.let it do it's thing.
I gotta give props to Moderncowboy, Lavagirl, and Rogro. Yesterday, I wouldn't have been able to help.
