There's the actual thread that tells you how.

    Simple directions
open up your blackberry.alx file witha notepad or wordpad
Hit CTRL+F type AT&T click find next
Then where ever it says _vendorID="(your vendor code goes here)"
    AT&T is 102 TMO is 100

There should be about nine vendors. AT&T to Rogers

    Re: Unlocking vendor themes

Does anyone have a Zip File of the Vodafone theme for 8100 that can be downloaded to your desktop and uploaded using the Application Loader. The reason I ask is that I have followed the steps of how to unlock the Vendor themes, but I cannot locate the blackberry.alx file.

I suspect it may be on a server in work and setup by our IT admin?

    Re: Unlocking vendor themes

It's already in your install...u just need to unlock it.

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\(your current OS)

That is the exact path other than which ever OS your running.

If you don't have access to the Desktop Manager then you won't be able to unlock it. I don't know if you can even pull out the files and load them via desktop manager.

Mick asked if we could provide a zip file. Since his phone is a work phone I presumed he wasn't able to access the alx file.

You need the DM and your OS installed onto your PC. The file that needs to be edited is the one that comes with your current OS.

As Rcbjr said in previous posts you will need the handheld software on your PC. (your OS)

    Hope this clarifies things.

    Re: Unlocking vendor themes

Justyn download whatever OS you want to use. Run/install it after it's downloaded.

    (Stole from Reddogs above post)

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\(your current OS)

    Simple directions
open up your blackberry.alx file witha notepad or wordpad
Hit CTRL+F type AT&T click find next
Then where ever it says _vendorID="(your vendor code goes here)"
    AT&T is 102 TMO is 100

There should be about nine vendors. AT&T to Rogers

click save open BB DM click app loader....

It's super easy the way Red explained it
