    Hi,

I was wondering if an unlocked AT&T Curve is able to receive mms after unlocking it for use with a Tmobile SIM?

It should be able to. Are you having an issue?

I'm on Tmobile, using an unlocked 8310 and MMS works fine.

Just remember to change the APN.. wap.voicestream.com

APN? Where and how do I do that?

No, this is not my phone. I'm actually using the bold. A friend of mine (who's not on PS) found a phone and had it unlocked. He was just wondering if MMS would work on an unlocked phone. Since I didn't know the answer, I came directly to my sources, fellow PS'ers.

Yes, it should not be a problem. The MMS functionality is from the service books.

Alrighty, thanks a lot. I don't need to change the APN (whatever that is) or anything, right?

The APN is really for 3rd party apps that need access to the internet. True, the AT&T APN settings are different than the TMO.

If you wish to set this go to OPTIONS - ADVANCED - TCP

    Set APN to wap.voicestream.com
Leave the username and password blank.

Wasn't sure if it affected MMS or not, just wanted to be sure. Everything should work fine once you get the service books.

Using a unlocked 8310 now...just change APN. As for unlock info, I called ATT and told tehm I brought phone used-they checked their DB and gave me unlock code over the phone! I guess agent checked that phone wasn't reported lost/stolen...
