    unable to open attachments

    ok, so i decided to dwl the latest OS for Tmobile. I've had nothing but problems.

    Right now, i'm unable to open attachments. When i get an email with an attachment, i would hit the menu button and a drop down box appears and i would scroll down until it says "open attachment" it's not doing that.

    Is there something i should be doing??? please help.

    feel free to pin me 243574EF with any help/suggestions.

    Check OPTIONS - Advanced - Applications and make sure that you loaded the Blackberry Attachment Service. If it is missing use Desktop Manager / Application Loader to install....

    Gary, i checked and i have it installed. however, i noticed it's when i received attachments from Verizon subscribers

    If it is a supported file type that (carrier) should not make a difference. Are these media type files?

    it's just Jpegs and PDF. I thought it was just the carrier. I had sent myself an email from my work email address with attachments and it's the same thing....nothing shows when i press the menu button to open the attachment.

    guess i'll be making a call to my carrier

    Didn't someone say that forwarded messages with attachments doesn't work? Cause I can not see them either, unless I use Gmail App.

    so i uninstalled blackberry attachment service and reinstalled it and still nothing.

    do you think i need to uninstall the desktop manager?? i don't know what to do and i'm at my wits end...losing patience

    Lets try this....
    Go to Options>Advanced>Service Books - delete Desktop[CMIME] if present, as well as the CMIME service book for the email address giving you problems.

    Now resend your service books (either from the BIS page or the Set Up App on your device.

    Post back any results....

    BTW - you did not by ANY CHANCE install desktop manager with redirector? redirector DOES NOT support attachments.

    if i go and delete the items you listed above(its my mail address account) will i be able to get it back??

    As for the Desktop Manager with Redirector, i don't believe i had downloaded it. i downloaded Desktop Manager with Media Manager....was that wrong?? please advise

    I stopped by the Tmo store this morning. I was told my bb email account has limited space in opening attachments. I explained i never had this problem before; stated i should have my attachments should go to my other pop3 email accounts or if they are pic msgs sent from a cellphone then it should be sent out as an MMS....does that make anysense?? please advise...this is so annoying.

    Resending the service books will replace the items I suggested you delete. We are working on the possibility that you have a corrupt service book causing this issue.

    When you installed DM it asks if you are using BES or BIS. If you had installed with redirector you would be getting emails that said something like this..."do not delete this message is used to carry data" If you are not getting those we can probably assume you DM install is ok.

    For the time being we will dismiss the comment from your neighborhood store....

    is this something that i have to do on my pc using the desktop manager?? or can i do it from the device?? Currently, i'm at work right now. please advise

    You would need to delete the service books I listed on your device. Then go to the Manage Internet Email icon on your 8320 and scroll down to Service Books and when prompted, select "Send Service Books".

    Try what Gary said and if you have problems I'd call Tmob and ask them to send you to a BB person right off the bat. They'll figure it out. Don't forget BB rule #1: Don't ever go into a store. Rule#2: Don't ever ask anybody anything in a store either.
