What kind of krylon did you use? The regular kind or the fusion that sticks to plastic?

Because I used the fusion when I did mine blue, but I might have to switch to the tamiya when I do it a diff color. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Where did you get tamiya from a craft store? And did you use a primer?

yeah craft store or specialty hobby store. it shouldnt be hard to find. primer just makes the painting process so much easier. i highly recommend primer and a gloss coat of some sort.

I bought Tamiya from Hobby People myself. They had tons in stock. I was going to go with Krylon originally, but after hearing a few stories, I'm glad hey didn't carry Krylon!

All they have right now is the trackball and screen cover though. I bought mine on eBay, you can check there. Goodluck!

hey guys... when you paint these, are you taping over the screen, or are you taking that off then painting? I am finding that when I tape over then peel it off the paint "rips" withe the tape.

I have taken the screen off, but then its a pain to get back on.

just looking for your techniques : )

    Thanks !!!

You can't, but what I did was color some clear scotch tape with a blue Sharpie and lay a couple strips over the led while it was apart.

The pearl doesn't need this. You can get colorevent; it's a program that lets you change colors for different events such as emails messages and phone calls. No need for painting. That is if you have an 8100 and not something else. Good luck. And thanks for the info on that tape dude.
