Yup. I used your thread as one of my sources for the paintjob. I just threw in a few extra precautions/steps. (:

Yeah.. Im going to try to find them in the stores, so I don't have to order from online.. There is also a red/brown, but i don't want a brown phone.. I know blackberrys are the sh**, but I don't want to paint it the same color as it..

i saw a real life photo of the pink/gold spray being used on a model car and it looks really nice...there's also a blue/green coming soon.
the only thing is tamiya said the spray paint is for polycarbonate? or something..is that a plastic? or does anyone know what that is? im just wondering if that type of paint can be applied on the BB housing

Working for a car shop that does custom body/paint work has it's advantages
My process for painting my 8310 was as follows
1. Disassemble and tape off
2. razor out what i wanted painted
3. VERY fine sand blast to remove OEM paint
4. silver primer/base coat from PPG
5. wetsand w/ 600 grit
6. 2 coats of PPG Hot Wheels® Spectraflame® Bright Red and Orange
7. 3 coats of PPG Hot Wheels® Spectraflame® Purple "candy" clear coat
8. 6000 grit wet sand polish
Pics to follow

I am running to the hardware store now to pick up some sandpaper and blue painters tape! I have all my primer/paint/clearcoat and cases so I will be doing the work today!

I don't know what I am doing wrong but wetsanding is not going as expected for me. I think that maybe the sandpaper isn't high enough grit, its 1000, thats the highest the store had. I have tried twice and both times it has taken off the paint so right now another coat is drying and I will just go straight to clear instead of wetsanding first. At first I was going to leave the antenna cover in red but then when I saw the matte black dry it looks so badass I had to go fully blacked out. I need to order the black keyboard from the red curve or VZW curve and then my murdered out BB will be complete!

I painted mine again. It came out lighter than I expected from what was on the can. It came out a lot better than my first experiment.
