This tutorial really helped. It got my AT&T Curve up an running on T-Mobile.
Now I am having an issue with MMS. I tried activating MMS by sending myself a test message, but when I get the message. It says that I need to log onto the website to view my pic. Please help.

Try deleting all your service book and resending it, that works for me.

Home Inspector, the above steps, in post number 1, work. Just follow them, one by one...

Wipe your device using JL-CMDER and then re-install the os.

I can't get the new software to install. The application loader starts to install it, and after the first device restart says "A fatal error has occurred while updating your device's software. Please try again."

The Blackberry screen shows a window in a circle with a line through it and the number 507.

I have tried redoing the process a few times now, with no luck. The only way mine differed from the instructions was that I didn't have a vendor.xml file after installing the O2 software.

    Help!

Sometimes the JL_CMDER program fails to connect to your Blackberry. Don't panic...
    hit start
    hit run
    type cmd
    type cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
you should see you are no in the dos directory of the folder mentioned above
    type loader.exe /nojvm

This should kick in your app loader and you can breathe a sigh of relief.
Just make sure you are using the USB connection on the drop down you will see, not COM3.
    Enjoy...

That almost worked. It installed the system software, rebooted, and started to install applications. Now I get the same 507 screen on the Blackberry. The computer now says "unspecified error occurred [J:0x00000005]".

    Argh!!!

Try it again, make sure the battery is in at this point as well.
Previously one of the options was to take the battery out, but once it starts resetting, it gets screwed.
    Keep at it...

That bootloader command line will get you there eventually.

Thanks - I actually started another thread too on this. Briefly, my Blackberry is stuck on that 507 screen. I keep getting errors that windows doesn't recognize my USB device. JL_CMDER doesn't seem able to talk to the Blackberry - the DeviceInfo command returns a blank screen.

I've tried plugging into a different USB port. I've tried taking the battery in and out. Is my Blackberry toast?

No, it just isn't recognizing the USB port on the phone. Unplug it, shut off your blackberry device manager. Plug in your phone again.
Then, well, you know the good ol' process now.

Edit: After you plug the phone back in you can also try to load the app loader from the blackberry device manager at this point, it might work here as well. If not, head back to the command line.
