Question Transferring Picture files from 8310 to Desktop PC?

New to Curve, birthday present. Have taken a bunch of pics on it and now can't find them through the Desktop Manager, and have noooo idea how to get them off the phone onto my PC! Also can someone explain the settings around the Media Card, ie should I have Media Card Support set to On or Off? I'm quite lost here...

Media card suporrt should be on. also make sure you settings for the media card is set as being able to use as mass storage device. When those are set then you should be able to access your media card through windows my computer. Easier way is to use the media manager from within the Desktop manager. Your settings for the media card should be under options/advanced options/media card.

Thanks, I have now set it to that. Does that mean I won't be able to get the pictures which I took before changing these settings, off the phone?

    you should be fine.

you can also email them to yourself, if pluggin into a PC isn't as easy for you

if you have ever used a portable flash drive, think of the bb as one plug in the usb and browse/explore to the drive it defaults to (mine is K: ) ... will say blackberry beside it.

Thank ya Cherri', by the way you've taken some lovely pics with yours (posts earlier in the year). I'm looking in my J Drive but can only see one photo, the most recent. All the other photos from yesterday and before I can't see anywhere... though I can locate them on my phone? weird. Lots of pics of my little girl I'd like not to lose them!

The other phots may be stored on the device memory and not your media card.

Also, is it at all possible to change or remove the first page you see on your screen? The one that shows me Voice Mail, Call Log, Email, Text and Calender... can I switch the list round, personalise it's background, or get rid of that page?

Depending on your theme that is set you can customize it to an extent. Or if you really want to get down to the gritty stuff you can make your own them. The ones i like are the phamton and then one call the satin today blue.

If I try taking a new pic, it says 'Card unavailable, saving to Device Memory'.. I'm so confused.

if you are using a zen theme (where the icons are on the left) then press the applications button (menu -- to the left of trackball) to get th the icon screen. there, scroll over an app that you want to be on the zen screen, choose menu again, and choose move ... same goes for hiding apps you don't use or don't want to see all the time. the first 5 that you have on that icon screen, are what is going to appear on the zen screen

if you find your daughters pics on device memory, email or mms them to yourself

You probably have your BB still connected to your comp. when you connect your bb to the comp it disables the media card from your bb and makes it look like a flash drive.

do you have it plugged into your usb cable right now?
    that could be an issue...

if you haven't formatted it, maybe that might be the issue...
