when you go click on it to save, browse to the place where YOUR blackberry.alx file is

    should be
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8320-v4.2.2.171_P2.5.0.24

choose save and it SHOULD say something like, the file already exists, replace?

I am a little lost, the OS you speak of is the handheld software I assume, not the desktop manager right? I already have it, downloaded the alx files, and moved em to the same folder I have the handheld OS, and when I went to app loader, add selected the folder, it said no app found for your bb

Re: TMO 8320 Unlocked Vendor Themes

IF you guys follow the instructions pefectly, then you won't need to click 'add' because DM will update the files for you as 'updates to the core system files'...

if you are not prompted to replace the blackberry.alx file, located in the path that i posted above, then you are doing something wrong. i am thinking that you haven't replaced the original alx file with bb8800's file, or it would be working for you...i think that is the key.

    Ladies and Gents,

maybe this is not the best theme addition to attempt if you're not familiar with these files, and working with the desktop manager.

I don't know what if anything you'll gain from the unlocked themes either.

My suugestion is to first concentrate on acquiring themes via the OTA proces first, since this would be the ideal way to add and install programs to the handhed. You have WiFi capabilities, you should focus on using them and integrating these methods.

If at the conclusion of the application reload the message indicates success, you might want to consider the value in persisting beyond that. Certainly there will be more themes in the weeks to come.

Ok, to be fair I went an found the file, per your directions, and installed the file. After all, if there's a problem, we're gonna be here to help you get back to where you should be, right?

I'll let you know the results.

Re: TMO 8320 Unlocked Vendor Themes

I am using VZW's theme, it is NOT one that is available with this unlocking method (since VZW does not have a curve), it is availble in the curve theme section to download.

Mission accomplished, not really sure that the end justified the means.

I'll keep looking for the BB Dimension Today Plus that I used on my 8100.
