Thinking about trading in Curve of 8525

I'm thinking about exchanging my BB Curve for the HTC 8525 b/c:

    1) I cannot get used to EDGE speed, why not pay the same per month for 3G?
    2) I can still get pop emails w/ HTC 8525
    3) I really want the ability to edit documents (word, excel)
    4) Watching the US Open live on my coworker's 8525 was pretty cool
    5) 8525 uses windows Pocket PC Edition (not smartphone edition that something liek blackjack uses) so not as quirky
    6) TONS of 3rd party apps
    7) heavier, but not much bigger than BB Curve (it's thicker, but not as wide)
    8) larger 2.8" screen
    9) comparable battery use
    10) Wifi
    11) also has 2mp camera, AND can take videos
    12) cleaner looking w/ hidden keyboard
    13) I need extensive organizer/calendar functions, w/ seamless sync w/ my outlook

I'm really a gadget freak and power user who needs all the bells and whistles. If i'm going to be paying close to $100/mo, I'd like to get the most functionality out of my device. Any reasons for me not to switch besides the whole OS crashes argument? I think PPC is def getting mature, and w/ new updates, etc, it's def becoming more stable, no?

Why not just do it right and get yourself an unlocked Eten Glowfish 500/700. Get your curve unlocked and sell it. Pretty much an even swap. The 8525 is weak compared to what you can really get.

A Windows Mobile phone is like taking the scenic route to a destination; sure it's prettier, but it also takes longer. Also, depending on who your passengers (onboard programs) are, it can be a horribly painful trip.

Different strokes for different folks though!

I've used the 8525 and must say it's a very nice device. Definitely has all the bells and whistles. One thing you will want to invest in is an extended battery. I promise. You will need it! Overall it's pretty sweet. We'll miss you, take care.
P.S. Once you get it, go straight to XDA Developers. Have fun.

Just left WM... never going back... at least not until the BB emulator software is refined and functional on them...

    Even then... ????

Trust me: You don't want to change to WM.

looks like you've already convinced yourself, so why post here unless you are thinking about making someone think about what you've been thinking...i think

That is quite an interesting phone. I think I'll stick to my BB though, if not for any other reason just because of this forum and how awesome all of my fellow stackers are.

I've had 4 HTC phones. The Dash, MDA, 8125 and SDA. I guess my biggest gripe is that they require your full attention to do the smallest tasks. The short battery life was an issue. I was all ready used to the frequent crashs....I use Microsoft products and I drive a Ford. I guess I would suggest keeping your Blackberry, just in case you and HTC don't see eye to eye.

Yes. I believe you've already convinced your self to make the switch. You will never know unless you try right? Just remember that magicbutton is your friend. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Re: Thinking about trading in Curve of 8525

well, i'm TRYING to convince myself, let's just put it that way =) honestly, i really really like the BB Curve, and want to keep it, but just the allure of more power... you know how it goes, you keep wanting more... the biggest and baddest =\

This is my first blackberry, and I've never used a WM device before either, but the specs on the 8525 and what it can do... anyways thanks for everyone's input, I swear I'm still on the fence!
