Themes not loading in OS 4.3 8330

Maybe some of the masters on here can help me. Got a 8330 from bell, but I am not able to load any new themes, says they're not designed for my device. What gives? I thought 4.3 has been out for a while, or is it that the 8330 is real new?

It's because you need to install the device OS on your PC in addition to the Desktop Manager. Once you do that, any 83xx theme should work. Check out this thread, it will explain:

Thanks for the reply... But the 8330 is not listed anywhere. There is no upgrade that I can find yet. Also, I have already download the latest DM software straight from RIM (4.3).

You don't need an upgrade, just the same version that's on your phone now needs to also be on the PC in addition to the desktop manager.

Who is your carrier and also what is the version of your OS on your phone now, look under Options>About and tell me the whole version number, for example mine is 4.3.0.81. I'll try to find the link for you.

The application loader in the desktop manager needs the handheld/device software to aslo be installed on your computer so it can recognize your OS and add things to your phone.

    azstar;

Thanks a lot for the help.

    4.3.0.124 is the number

And Bell Mobility is the carrier.

Well, I guess you're right about it being too new, they haven't released it for download on RIM's Bell Mobility download list. Maybe you could try calling your provider to find out if they have a way of getting it to you or telling you when it may be available. Sorry I couldn't help you more...until it gets released you'll have to download OTA(over the air) themes and applications.

Or maybe someone else knows where to get it.....

Keep an eye out here on the stacks, I'm sure once it's released there will be plenty of talk about it.

    try verizon or sprint
i'll look now...those would probably be the only other carriers to have the OS.
they usually take about a month or so to release the OS after the bb has been officially released (at least that is how it has happened for the past two years). so...alternatively, you could always OTA like aztar said

Yeah, i tried that. The only carrier to release it other than Bell is Telus, but no dice.

yep. i looked at all the CDMA carriers

i had to wait for the samething when i got my new curve(s) last year really sucks when you are trying to test themes on the device too, and you can't even use DM to do that. now, we just play the waiting game. i assure you the minute it is released there will be a thread here

I got it to work.. I re-installed the software from the CD, and it installed the device software. For some reason, it didn't the first time...

And the Bell 8330 came out on Friday...

I have the Bell Mobility Curve as well... I'm trying to load applications and there is no device software. I'm trying to install from the CD now to see if this will help.
