I have been looking for a GPS program to take on the road when I travel. Here's what I've found by using most of the available products...

    1) AmazeGPS - new version has a better interface, but it still runs slow like
garbage on my 8310. I couldn't use it.
    2) Nav4all - OK free program. Complex interface, no street names, 2D only, but
nice vocal directions. Many different languages. Free until 2010.
    3) GoogleMaps - good non-audio directions and reasonably easy to use.
    4) ATT Navigator - TeleNav "upgrade" on AT&T. I had problems getting this to
work initially (it would only run as ATT Maps which was a non-GPS app). Several
calls to AT&T and 2 reboots finally got it working. Nice 3D graphics, spoken
prompts and street names and good interface - but costly ($9.99 per month).
Much better than the freebies. (It didn't give much time to react to instructions
and had an annoying habit of constantly recalculating directions. 14-day free
    trial.
    5) Mapquest Navigator - all around good program and half the cost of ATT
Navigator ($4.17 per month). 7-day free trial.
    6) Garmin Mobile for BB - nice interface, easy to use, 3D, voice prompts with
spoken street names. I believe it is superior to ATT Navigator as turns were
announced with plenty of time to react. It is also a better cost value ($99 for as
long as you own your BB). 14-day free trial (30 days if you follow the links
    posted elsewhere on this board.)

    My money goes to Garmin.
