    TCP Settings

So I got my TMob 8900 yesterday. With my old 8320 I had to set the TCP Settings to wap.voicstream.com with the apn name and pw blank.
After looking at TCP/IP Settings, I see that it is at epc.tmobile.com.
Do I need to change this or leave it alone?

epc.tmobile.com is the newer faster network for blackberrys. Leave it as that as long as it works. I tried to switch to wap.voicestream.com with my 8900 to be the same as my pearl and the phone browser no longer works. T-Mobile reps will tell you to use wap.voicestream.com tho.

I went back to the wap.voicestream due to my youtube not working with the epc.tmobile

I may go back though and try it with the epc setting and see if that was really the culprit or maybe it was something else and it all just happened coincidentally when it started working again after I switched back to the wap setting.

I noticed that when I bought the 8900. I kept it that way. I am going to put that on my bold to see if it works better than before.

TMO is migrating to epc. EPC also compresses better than wap.vs, which results in a faster connection. I might also be wrong here, but I believe you must have epc for UMA to work.

i agree with Tom about epc's better compression / faster connectivity... not entirely sure about requirement to run UMA...

UMA is fine for me with WAP so I dont think that messes it up. Even still, I'm gonna change back to EPC here I think.
