How does t mobile compare to AT&T in Chicago? Also, has anyone had any luck connecting an apple router with UMA? Thanks.

Tmo service will be just as good in chicago as att. Since tmo is basically a big city carrier. I was in chicago and had the same signal on my att personal phone and my tmo dealer line

I have had T-mo Chicago for 2 years. Love it. My family has at&t. The big upside for me is the VOIP. I use a non t-mo Linksys router. I get great service even in my basement. Not AT&T though.

Have used T-Mobile in Chicago area for 5 years and very few problems. In fact it is getting better all the time as they add new towers.

Service in the city is very good. Its when you start wandering out past the suburbs that you will experience issues. I have 20 TMO lines in Chicago, and rarely have complaints from users about call quality or drops.

I've been with T-Mo for a while - about 6 years, and rarely if ever had a problem - let alone had something that required a CS phone call.

    (in the famous 312...)

I would say either would be fine- I've been on T-Mobile for 6 years and the only difference I could see and it would actually give AT&T the edge is I've NEVER been able to get a signal on the EL when I'm in the tunnels. Last I heard AT&T had an exclusive deal with the city for getting service down there. Other than that, they're pretty comparable.

The apple routers don't work with @home.

Thanks for the info. I read a review of the 8120 at PCMAG and they mentioned it worked with an apple router so I was curious.

Well, check with T-Mo reps, there might be a way to connect with apple routers.
I myself is a mac user but I don't have apple routers, lol.

Anyways, been using T-Mo in chicago for around 6-years and its great, no problems at all.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~Ive never had an issue with TMO service. Maybe a couple phones, but not the service. I have friends that have AT&T service and they have no probs. I guess any popular service would be good. If I had to go to another provider, from, TMO, I would go to AT&T.
