Are you sure it's 561 and not 507?

507 means your OS failed to load correctly and there are things missing.

Have you tried reloading the OS?

You might need to take things a step further and follow the instructions in this thread:

    http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com/blog.php?b=197

You're positive it's 561 and not 507, though? Sometimes the one is mistaken for the other.

Is this OS safe? I just upgraded to a curve from a pearl and I don't feel like frying my new baby.

There's an official release for your device now, WhitePearl, so you should take comfort in that at least.

I would say that the success stories far outweigh any issues other people may have experienced with the upgrade.

Ah ok sounds good. So when tmo releases theirs, will it be any different? Plus, where's the most reliable place I can get the OS and what are the new features?

When TMO gets around to releasing theirs it will most likely be different, yes.

Here is the link for the 4.5 OS from Orange UK:

Main features are video recording (with media card), voice notes, HTML e-mails to name a few.

I replied before reading your reply rogro. Are there any memory or battery improvements like on the last pearl update?

I have noticed less of a memory leak with this OS, but can't really tell any difference with regard to battery life.

My memory actually improved. 22 million bytes with the new 4.5 OS xblue theme and yahoo I'm installed. Everything is moving smoothly. Just one prob tho. I haven't figured out how to get the HTML emails to work

Notice some memory leaks as well. Battery life seems to be the same since 4.2. Over 12 hours of life for me and I'm a heavy user.
