Switch from Curve 8320 to Pearl 8120
I have a Curve 8320 and I was thinking about getting the Pearl 8120 when it comes out in April on T-mobile.I like the size and style of the Pearl so I thought I would sell my Curve and get the new Pearl.Do you think it's crazy to replace the Curve with the Pearl ?
I actually switched from the pearl to the curve...I loved the large screen and I hate that qwerty board the pearl has...Personally I would never switch back to the pearl...I also think compared to other blackberries the curve isn't large...
all personal opinion though...
Same here also. You would be giving up a descent sized screen for a tiny one and qwerty for sure type.

I went from an 8703e to an 8100 (w/ Tmo) then to an 8130.
Size was a factor for me. Don't get me wrong, I loved the 8703e, the larger screen and full QWERTY keyboard, but the size of the Pearl lured me in .
If size is a defining factor, then you may end up liking the Pearl. At least go to a store and play with one for a bit to see if it is really what you want.
The only one who can really decide is you, and the newer Pearls aren't 'downgrades' from other models IMHO.
Agreed...best thing to do is play with them yourself
Perfect advice, I tried both out for 2 weeks, and I went with the 8130. Not 1 regret. Good luck
yes-have had them both, prefer the 83xx over the 81xx hands down
I went from a 7730>7100t>7105t>8100. I have been happy so far but there are times when I would like a full keyboard. There are positive things about it, despite the constant negatives I have seen and read about it.
To those who do not like the SureType (NOT QWERTY) on the BB, just give it a try for a week. I have played the game Trooper Typing that you can install over the air (mobile.blackberry.com Free Game section). This has been a great refresher for me.
Also, yes the screen IS small, but if you get used to it, it shouldn't be any problem.
The biggest thing that drew me to the Pearl was portability. It's much easier to find a place to keep it protected than to have to make room for a bigger device. If I do end up getting a bigger BB, it will be for home use only.

Well I also prefer the 8320 to the 8100, but not the 8130 or the 8120.these new pearls are great.
Does the 8120 have anything your 8320 won't?
By the way, os 4.5 will have integrated youtube support for 8320. I think that's pretty cool.
~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i actually wentfrom a pearl to curve. Bigger screen wifi. Not to mention os 4.5 soon I hope. But I guess we all have different likes. But that's what's so great about bbs so many diff choices.
It's also frustrating. Apple wins?
What have they won? They've only offered up a challenge!

I haven't ever had a pearl, but I love my curve. It's amazing. And I love that it's actually bigger than a normal cell phone. Makes me feel important lol.
I think choices CAN lead to frustration, but yeah may not be a bad thing.
For the time being, iphone users have the option of just choosing hard drive size, whilst everyone is getting the same features, usability, and control. No jealousy or complaining.
Simplicity can be a beautiful thing.
