    Hi all,

    I've got a BES 4.0 with about 50 8700s & 15 8310s.

Now just recently, two of the 8310s have been deleting emails, call logs ect.

I understand this is automatically to free up valuable space.

But, one of these devices is only a couple of weeks old.

I've made sure photos are saved to SIM, done alt+lglg and deleted everything in there but it still deletes stuff.

After about two hours of this its just fine.

It won't happen again for months and months but I'm curious as to why the 8310 seems to do this more often than the older 8700s which have been issued for over a year and only two have done this?

    Thanks.

You mean the photos are saved to the memory card on the 8310. The 8700 doesn't have storage.

Erica, that's right, all photos are stored on media card of 8310, the 8700 has no expandable memory.

anaenima, there's '0 filre free', that's gotta be bad!

I've just got my hands on it. I've noticed he's installed three themes on the thing!

We all know themes are very memory intensive.

I uninstalled two of the them and sure enough the file free is now about 15meg.

That should keep it going for now.

Does anyone have any tips on how to keep the memory as free as possible, like deleting the event viewer logs for example?

I gues I could use a policy to stop any ota downloads.

    Thanks.

You still have about 15mb of space, that is still pretty low. Try this thread right here.

In the meantime, clear your internet cache by going on the internet, pressing the bb button, Options, Cache Operations, Clear History. Also, you could delete your event logs (ALT + L + G + L + G), press the bb buttton, Clear Log, Delete.

Also, another thing you can do to free up some memory on your bb without going on DM is to delete the preloaded sample video that came on your bb. You would find that under Options>Advanced Options>Applications.

Further, do note that the memory card ONLY holds your pictures, songs and ringtones UNLESS you purchase this other program which allows you to save applications on your media card. Emails, sms, mms are always stored on your phone thus, using your phone memory.

Another way of finding your memory status (file free) is to hold down LEFT ALT + LEFT SHIFT + H.
