    This is weird...

    4.5.055 OS (non-t-Mobile).

When I get a call, phone doesn't Ring (like it's on silent).
When I get a text message, no audible alert either.

If I do a soft reset (turn off then on), it will work properly.

    Any ideas?

Have you removed any *.cod files from the OS when you installed it??
This happened to me when I removed one of the *.cod files from the OS when I installed the OS.

Check your profile settings...they might have changed during the update. That would be unusual, but not improbable.

Now, I think about it... This happened when I upgraded and I didn't put my SD card back in... All the ringtones that I had set for alerts, didn't work and it showed up as 'Browse' under the profile settings for each alert!
