    Storing Bdays

What's the best way to store birthday info? I'm really bad w/ this and use my Outlook (on my PC) to store them and get reminders, but the BB Address book doesn't have that option. I guess I can put them in as Calendar reminders, but is there a better way?

You can make it have that option :

    1. Go into your address book, choose ANY contact, hit menu and choose edit.
    2. Scroll all the way to the bottom until you see User1, User2, User3, etc.
    3. Choose User1, then hit menu, and choose Change Field Name.
    4. Type in Birthday.
    5. Hit menu, and choose save.

It updates every address book entry with this new field, and will add it to new contacts.

If you use outlook that is the best way. It syncs up with your calendar super easy. It won t show on your address book though. I just use the user 1 info spot and manually put it in then.

    Good luck

    Re: Storing Bdays

I could swear that there was a field in the address book that was specially for the birthday. I looked for it but didnt see it. Im thinking this because some how my calendar has been populated with birthdays, but i cant find that information in the address book, and I just checked my mac and its not there either. Could something have been changed in an OS update? I wonder if that option is in the 8100 Rodgers OS and not the newest Cingy?

I could swear that the Mac address book will do that for you.

Add the bday info to your mac's address book. Sync your bb with the Mac, then sync your calendars. I'm pretty sure it will add them automatically. I remember my g3 asking about enabling birthday reminders... But that was a while ago... Worth a shot though.

Yea unfortunately there isn't a reminder. I look often enough at my calendar so I don't need reminders. Good luck~red

If you sync using outlook you can write a macro to do this for you.

I'm sure a quick google will find a template with instructions...
