    7.) Open Desktop Manager. It should recognize that there is an upgrade for your device. ('Vendor.xml' must be deleted for this step to work).

    how do i know if it recognized the upgrade or not? nothing popped up when i opened Desktop Manager

    The sim card does not need to be in. If you took it out then after the OS install you will need to put it in when you set up your device.~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

    I open Desktop Manager and it comes up and all with the options Application Loader, Backup and Restore, Device Switch Wizard, Media, and Synchronize...

    no OS installment or anything... oh man... i knew it being fixed was just too good to be true

    This is a silly question but did you attach your blackberry to your computer with a usb cable when you opened up the desktop manager yet?~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

    LOL! Believe it or not, I have to go, so I don't completely have your back here.

    Man, isn't there someone else around tonight to help you through this?

    I think if you do the wipe with jl_cmndr via the link I posted above, then try the reinstall again, you should be good to go.
