    sneaky tmobile

ok so today i found out about a free program that tmobile offered for my 8320 curve ,called faxmail. when i asked the guy why there is no hint of this feature anywhere, and what other free programs they had he started laughing like some kind of ghoul, then attempted to sell me hotspot, makes me wonder what other services or programs they offer and why would they go out of thier way to hide it?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~its more the fact that 90% of the reps don't know about it. Or how to use it.

Do you know if you spoke to a CSR or a BB Tech Specialist? More often than not, CSR's aren't in the know about BB specifics (unless they're addicts too ) Try calling again, and if the CSR you are speaking to can't help you, ask to be transferred to BB Tech Support.

    Re: sneaky tmobile

Considering I am a CSR representative with T-mobile. There are bad apples, as with any company, but in comparison i've been through 2 razrs with sprint (took me a MONTH to get my second after hours of bickering over the phone about the insurance claim) and don't even get me started on the ridiculous hidden charges I had with cingular after I switched from sprint (21.99 in roaming charges with a nationwide plan? yeah, that made sense) and not to mention they had the absolute WORST customer service and coverage I've ever seen still till this day. It's probably even worse now with the AT&T merger. Seriously, what company in this day and age should stack contracts and charge ridiculous amounts for data plans that others can give for half the price? It just doesn't make any sense.

Anywho, I truly believe that T-Mobile has the best data plans for Blackberry devices and not to mention the incredible savings with the MyFaves service which allows you to call up to 5 of your most commonly called people for free. With my MyFaves plan I can't even remember the last time I had to check my minutes with the UMA WiFi service and the Unlimited T-Mo to T-mo calling with MyFaves. I actually just dropped my anytime minutes plan from 1k to 500 since I wasn't even using over 200 each month, since my other usage was in the 1k minute range with both services.

I guarantee you T-Mobile has the best customer service considering the work environment we're given is unparalleled to anywhere that I've worked before. Surfanimal is correct, most CSR's only help with general problems and it was a bad decision on your part to contact them and ask them such a specific question regarding a phone, and if he couldn't help you I am pretty sure you could have just asked him to transfer you to technical support which would of resolved your issue.

I truly apologize if you have had any inconvienences with the service, but I guarantee you no one in the industry does it better than T-Mobile.

    Re: sneaky tmobile

I have been with T-Mobile since 1997. I have made a few calls to CS and have found them to be curious, knowledgeable and helpful. The only real problem I have had with TMO was the UMA outage last week that I understand was weather related. I have had UMA service since August 07($9.99 promo) and it has been flawless with only the one aforementioned exception.
I remember years ago my car insurance co was going to fax me a insurance card for my wifes new car they sent it to my cell phone instead of my home fax line. I saw on my cell I had voice mail .. when I called to listen to the message said you have one fax message waiting and gave me some options on what to do with it. 1 option was to enter a fax number to have it sent to ... I entered my fax number and in a few mins .. I had the fax. I thought it was "too cool" however the service seemed to go away.
SO….MR or MRS TMO reps ..whats up with that ..? Does it still work..? If so how do we enable it? I know it was NOT a BB specific app or software as I had some free cheap nokia or some other lame phone at that time, this had to be 2 or so years ago.

This service is still available on any cell phone that TMO offers. When I worked for TMO, I would fax stuff to my boss's line, and he would print it out at his convenience...

If faxmail doesn't work, then you have to call CS and ask them to enable it. I did just that. When I called to have it (re-) enabled, the first CS person did not know anything about faxmail. I was then transfered to Blackberry support, and the CS person knew about the service, and enabled it. He said it would take 24 hours for it to work. Immediately after I finished the call, I went into my voicemail settings, and it was active.

BTW, Faxmail lets you receive faxes in your voicemail system -- it does not give you the ability to send faxes. Faxmail is a free service part of your voicemail system. Don't let CS sell you a separate fax line @ $9.99 / month.
