I just started happening today. I cannot receive texts but i can send them out. None of my send texts show up in my inbox, this is also happening with my call log. once i make a call it deletes it. I was able to receive one text but it was deleted right away. Anyone know what might be causing the problem?

Sounds like you are extremely low on memory.

    Check the following:

    Options>Status>Memory/File Free

You may need to turn your logs off by holding ALT and pressing LGLG.

Also try deleting old SMS, MMS and email messages you no longer need.

If you do not have a memory card and are using your camera or saving songs this takes up a lot of space also.

also how would you go about freeing up memory? is there a way to have texts or applications saved to the memory card instead of the phone memory. thanks again.

Also, try clearing your call logs from time to time. They might not look like they take much space, but every time you call someone it adds it to that persons call history and they stack up eventually.

Do you have a memory card to save multimedia on?

If you already have one, try the following:

    Media>Pictures>Menu>Options>Set the following:

    -Device memory limit= 12mb
    Reserved Pictures Memory= 0mb

Activate your camera>Menu>Options>Set Store Pictures= On Media Card

If you do not and you do save songs, ringtones, or pictures I highly recommend getting one. If you need help finding a good one I can look around for you and give you some links with good prices.

I don't believe there is a way to save the messages on your memory card upon receiving them.

As for applications on your memory card check out this thread:

    It isn't free though, $20.

Yes once you have your log opened you open your menu and there should be a "Clear Log" option.

Also, after you have cleared everything, be sure to reset your phone so that it starts up fresh.

Do this by pulling the battery or by using the SoftReset app which you can find in the BlackBerry Software section of www.geekandproud.net.

If you have BlackBerry Internet Service I would suggest getting SoftReset with an OTA link from the same site, except you would click OTA from the download section instead of Desktop Download. You would do this from your BB.

whats a decent amount to have free? mine shows 11746168 bytes file free... so divide by 1024, and again, and i have ~11megs free... thats ok?

Mine did this even when the inbox and logs were empty. I ended up getting a warranty replacement, but then I found out later that I (like an idiot) forgot to delete the outbox messages, which are also saved in the device memory, and that's why I was having the issue. I want my old 8320 back! :P

But in answer, yes 11 megs is okay.
