    smiley icon???

Hey all...been a while since Ive posted or needed anything...

something odd popped up tonight....right to the right of the little yellow envelope with number of messages icon, is a same size yellow smiley face ico with a #1 (presumably for 1 of whatever it is) on top of it...as if I have one email or text, but I cant tell what the hell its for...Ive cleared all the other new messages of any kind and no other icons on the desktop have any "1's" or are highlighted like something should be waiting, but the lil yellow smiley is still there....so any ideas??

    Thanks!

    Robb

    Hey Robb...
Lots of people ask this question...

The smiley face icon is caused by BlackBerry Messenger.

Chances are, if you've never really used it before, you're getting the icon because someone's added your PIN and requested to add you on it.

So, open your applications, find where you have Blackberry Messenger (or, alternatively, you can hold Alt and hit the Back key, and scroll to it in your active applications), and accept (or reject) the request.

If you don't use messenger much, you should. It's fun and convenient.
It's like Text messaging, without using Texts, and only between other Blackberry users. ^_^

    Hope that helps you!

    Not a problem.
Hopefully that sorts things out for you!

As for me, I need to check out the new Messenger 5.0 upgrade. =O

I finally got it up and running the other day...

Had a little wrestling with Desktop Manager... After getting BBM 5 installed, the bloody DM reloaded my entire OS and lost the new program.
Had to redo it all again, stupid sonuva... =/

But its all settled now, and I love it!
Especially the status, avatar, and gps options! =D

Has anyone gotten the gps option to work? I have tried it and nothing happens.

Well, I think you can request someone's location, but they have to also be running 5.0 and accept the request.

I have hardly anyone on my BBM, so I've not gotten the chance to fool around with it much.

turn that whole location option off...
I was having some serious lag issues until I turned it off and after that... no worries!

I've never had any lag from it...
But I can't seem to get it to actually WORK. =/

It seems to NOT actually request the other person when I tried it out.
