Sim swap between iPhone 3G and Blackberry 8320 [AT&T]

I had a T-Mobile 8320. I then got an iPhone 3G last july. (I wish my patience would have endured and I waited for the Bold). Anyway, I want to use my old curve again on AT&T. Getting a free unlock code is no problem. However, would AT&T let me switch back and forth month to month between plans. Like lets say for 2 months I have my blackberry and a blackberry plan, then one month iphone and iphone plan...you get the picture? ANy one know? Anyone want to trade an iPhone eG 16GB for a Bold?

Or, should I just take off the iPhone data plan and add the BB data plan for my curve and swap the sim to my iPhone on the weekends? I know people do it. And since both plans are $30 AT&T shouldn't have issues like they do/did with the people using the $15 medianet plans on iPhones. Anyone care to guide me along.

By the way...it's good to be back. I was lured away by the iPhones eye candy and ended up developing a nasty itch for my berry while I was gone. Anyone want to donate a Bold....just askin'...couldn't hurt

It will be interesting to see what you learn. I have the 8900 and G1 on T Mobile, and freely swap the plans on line when I move my sim between devices (same situation...no price difference)...I would think your only issue is of you agreed to keep the iphone plan for some period in your contract? Can you alter your ATT plan on line, or must you phone in?

hey spike, good to have you back (although I just made the switch last weekend )

    1) you could check out the "how i got my bold for $30" and try that?

    2) you can switch the sims, but remember that PIN messaging and push email will not work unless you are ON the BIS data plan. so you could call everytime you switched, or hop online and log into your account and switch it yourself.

ATT doesn't care how often you switch...it could be everyday.

Hey Cherri...like the iPhone? Again I love my iPhone but desperately miss my berry. I just jailbroke, downgraded the baseband, and unlocked my iPHone 3G if that makes any difference. The plan is to use my unlocked 8320 tmo branded berry on AT&T WITH a Blackberry data plan and simply swap the sim to the iphone whenever the mood strikes.

Also, thanks for the heads up on the $30 Bold, however I'm not eligible for an upgrade. Not to mention I again don't want to get rid of the iPhone so a big chunk of that discount is gone right there.

@GaryF: calling everytime I switch is an option too however, is their a limit as to how often you can switch back and forth. Just though of problem with switching though...it takes several hours for the BIS account to set up and become fully functional. Having to wait several hours several times a month is hardly worthwhile.

Heck, the whole point of having a SIM card is the ability to switch phones and devices. If AT&T is going to be this much of an *explative* about it I might as well switch to Verizon.

    I think that should work.

So far I'm loving it. Still kinda love/hate. Haven't jailbroke it yet. Waiting to see if I keep it.

Its hard...I would try to sell it on ebay...however I would miss the eye candy and all of the apps. It sucks. I wish I wouldn't have left. "YOu can't miss what you've never had"...right?

My brother has a blackberry plan and occasionally just puts the Sim card into his Iphone when ever he wants. Haven't heard much problems from him. I mean they basically are the same types of plans.

Thanks you khmertsunami...that's what I'm wanting to hear. lol. I plan on using the Blackberry more. WHen I do use the iPhone heavily it'll more than likely be within in WiFi hotspots so no need to worry about cellular usage there.

@cherri...by the way. Jailbreaking is insanely fast and easy. Download Qwkpwn. It takes literally 5 minutes to do. Makes the iPhone exponentially better. You can get mostly reliable backgrounding.
