Can you assign keys to open an app? I tried, but I can only assign it to a contact in my address book.

If you go to Options/ Screen / Keyboard, near the bottom gives you the option to add application to the convenience keys (the keys to the left and right side of the phone).

Sorry. I meant using the keyboard keys. Like how the A key locks your phone. For example, I want to assign the B key to open BB Messenger. Someone alluded to this feature in another post.

You can't assign them, but there are a bunch built in. To use you just go Phone-Options-General Options-Dial from home screen=NO. The poke some keys and see what shows up. I remember L=calendar M=messages B=browser W=Tmob browser C=contacts O=Options T=tasks N=bb messenger.

AWESOME! I love it. Thanks all. Important thing is to quickly tap the key. A fraction too long and you'll be asked if you want assign the key to a contact.

try using launch pads. its a cool app that lets you set any key as a shortcut for a direct text message, app, or direct call.
