    I dont thnk an OS install will help you. I agree with the others that this is most likely a system problem, not device. Lowercase edge should indicate that you are not properly connected to the servers. I agree that it is surprising that you seem to have full data capabilities. I suggest you call AT&T tech support and ask them to boot you out of their system and reinstate you to allow your device to reinitialze on the tower. Keep us informed.

    Well I reinstalled the service books last night. That didn't work. The att rep was their blackberry specialist. Should I just be suffice with the lowercase edge if it still works? I mean I'm typing this on my curve! By the way thank you everyone for being so helpful. Its a real pleasure getting actual assistance rather than mocked and harassed!

    Where are you located. I don't work for AT&T but I have heard that they are having issues in a few markets. This is definately a carrier thing. If your device ususally shows lowercase edge and it's been that way you're device isn't connecting to the network properly, you can still recieve emails etc, but they are usually sporadic.
    I would talk to AT&T techh support in regards to this issue. The only way that it would be your device is if for any reason you dropped your bb an damaged the antenna. If that's the case then you would have to look into getting it replaced

    I would definitely have them try what Gary suggested.
    Remove your data plan and re-add it. See if that will work.

    Ok well todays update! I powered off and removed the battery for a minute and I also adjusted the sim card a little. I then turned it on and wat do I see? EDGE!! We'll see how long it lasts though. Thanks again for the help and ill be back with my next problem I'm sure!

    congrats on getting it back...I have AT&T, have full EDGE and bleepin data not owrkin now....saw on another post that there may be an outage....this is ridiculous!!! GRRR *NOT HAPPY*

    I'm currently on hold and told my est. wait time approx. 11 min!

    there's probably not an outage. people are freaking out now the minute the smallest thing goes wrong saying that there's an outage and then suddenly the whole country thinks that the bb network is down. calm down people, companies do work on their towers and equipment, and that can cause intermittent service issues.

    ^^if they didn't work on their towers the signals would suck even more. And that loss of control and calm comes from the immediate loss of our beloved BB addiction...

    I've been having the same problems. When I come inside my apartment I can't make a phone call, Call Failed is all I get. This has only happened since I got the new Red Curve.
