Service Books Not Enabled On Unlocked 8310

I have a friend, stacker ZeroXR, (also a contact on BBMessenger) who is on T-Mobile using an unlocked AT&T 8310. I have seen the thread about service books not being enabled for Yahoo, but the issue pertains to AIM.

Attempts I have had him try

    Reboot the phone
Delete and reinstall AIM OTA and via DM
Delete and resend service books from PC and BB
    Register on HRT

We are both scratching our heads because AIM works fine on my 8120. He thinks it's because he bought the 8310 before AT&T released the service books to the devices but the phone is unlocked so it should accept service books from T-Mo if I remember correctly.

    Any help for the issue?

I would also like to add that the other messenger clients have the same error as well, not just AIM. Yahoo and MSN also exihibit the same errors.

Found the solution... Apparently the version of AIM that is offered by RIM currently (2.17 I think) is NOT compatible with OS 4.5.0.110, Platform 2.7.0.90... Instango has been my solution to it and also BeejiveIM is another way about things too.

I have AIM version 2.1.37 and OS 4.5.0.102 Platform 2.7.0.85 on my 8120 which is why I am baffled that it didn't work.

How would I do that? My phone works. His didn't until today. I am also not close enough in distance to do that.

I have no idea, cause the knowledge base from Blackberry just makes mention of this for the Curve series devices. The Pearl may be a special case...

That could be the case. I never thought about that.
