Is there a link that tells you how to do this? I am sooo tempted to remove the actual housing (if it can all come off) and spray painting it!!!!

    no worries doll.

you can order a complete replacment housing for cheap from cnn.cn

I have ordered from them in the past and they are reputiable. If you buy the outer shell for the 8300 surely you can figure out where you need to unsnap and what not.

post some pics when you paint. Hope you do it in pink

LOL...I was thinking Pink or Blue---no one has those colors! LOL! I just looked at the demo for the 8800 and it seemes real simple....so when I have a chance I'm gonna give it a shot. Then get the full BSE to get the shiiny effect and not chip the paint! I'm excited! LOL!

    the 8800 was not simple

it was a bitch to get the railings off. I almost broke mine.

I have taken apart every blackberry from the 6150 to the 8800. I love to clean them out with dust cans and the such...

they are getting a bit harder to take apart...

OK, is there a video on the curve, how to take it apart?

I figure if I do it when the kids aren't her and I can take my time it should be relatively easy (easier than trying to do it with kids).

Are the pieces sturdy, or are they liable to bend out of shape?

There are a few videos on youtube on how to take it apart and even on the pinstack homepage that pop up randomly.

Actually, you can get MOST of the housing from cnn.cn. They do not have the battery door for the curve. but I believe everything else yoou can get from them.

I would do a search on the paint for the 8700 and the 7290 pics that have been posted by other users. they have listed some good methods to do it.
