    Hey Bob, welcome to PinStack!

So you have the 507 error on your device right now?

Okay, and do you have the device software installed on your PC, ready to load to your device?

Okay, well forget about Desktop Manager. Let's make sure you have the OS on your PC.

Go to the Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs (or Programs and Features, depending on your PC) and look for BlackBerry Device Software. Make sure it's the one you want to load to your device.

    What device do you have?

I have to head out soon, but you should be able to find your OS on our site here. Just click on Forums>BlackBerry Curve and you'll see threads with Latest Official OS for xxx..... Choose your device and your OS.

Once you've downloaded the OS, go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader on your PC. Delete the file at the bottom called "vendor."

Connect your device to the PC

In that same folder, you'll see an executable file called "Loader." It has a little phone icon. Double click on that and hopefully your OS will start loading onto your device.

I'll check back later and see how it went or somebody else can help you.

    Ugh. Sorry Bob.

Okay, let's try a couple more things.

First, do a clean uninstall of Desktop Manager using these instructions: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/searc...rnalId=KB02206

    Reboot your PC.

Next, download the the USB and modem drivers from here: https://swdownloads.blackberry.com/D...4C55585DB73D09

    Reboot your PC again.

    Try the loader again.

No, that didn't do it either.Have now spoken to Orage and BBerry (both chocolate fireguards) who tell me the phone is "bricked" - any other suggestions? Thanks for the continuing help by the way
