Yes there is a big differnace, PUK codes is an override code if you forget the PIN code entered for security of the phone. They are NOT used for blackberrys, If you forget the code to a blackberry and it is entered wrong 10 time the black berry wipes its self.

A SIM unlock code, unlocks the phone for use on other carriers. An Unlocked phone can use SIM cards from overseas, or any carrier using SIM cards. Hope this helps.

I just received a code from ATT to unlock the 8300, but she said I need to insert the sim card to enter the code. Once I do that lets say with a prepaid Canada SIM card, will it also be unlocked furthermore for TMO?

Actually PUK codes are used on Blackberries. PUK codes involve the sim card and not the phone. They are tied to the sim and created by the system in case you forget your PIN code for the security of the sim card and not the security of the phone. If you forget your security code on the phone (a regular phone not a BB) you are SOL unless you know someone who can pull the security code from the phone, reset it, or have the patience to try the thousands of combinations of numbers that it could be.

It is phone specific. Each serial number has it's own code.

My Blueant Supertooth 3 arrived yesterday I think that its occur same problem and I can't quite figure out how to upload the address book from my Pre to the device.

I have tried the obvious but once the address book is finally prepped the Pre can't locate any paired devices to send it to.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
