    problems with JIVETALK

I didn't know where would be the best place to put this so I just guessed here since I am using a Curve. I just recently downloaded Jivetalk and I love it! But last night for the first time, I received a message and it froze up my phone when I tried to retrieve it. I thought, no big deal maybe it's just a one time glitch. Then this morning my boyfriend sent me a message and it froze again! Is anyone else having this problem?

How many applications are you running?
    How is your memory?
Did you try a battery pull?

I was only running Jivetalk at the time. I don't know how to check the connection type or memory. I pulled the battery last night and this morning because I couldn't get the phone to do anything.

I'm still on the trial version, would I still be able to reinstall it? I haven't had any problems with it until last night.

    Try doing these steps first
HOLD the ALT button (the bottom left hand) and then press the BACK button (the key to the right of the trackball) and while still holding the ALT button scroll through and see how what applications you have running. There are a about 5 that will always be running.
To check our memory Go to Options>Status and check your file free and file total. Or you can also Press ALT and type RACE.

Yes, you'll continue your trial period. so if you are at 20 days left now, you'll still have 20 days after re-install.

What is plenty of memory left? You'd be surprised.. I thought I had plenty of memory when I got my Pearl but low memory can cause a lot of problems. What is your file free?

Yeah that may be your problem right there, it's pretty low. Check this thread out on how to free up memory: http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...call_logs.html

Wow, 15 megs is low? I only have about 16 megs on my curve, and I believe I got rid of everything I don't need. I only have a few applications installed. I also have a 2gb memory card for all my media.

What is the recommended amount of free memory for a Curve?

People say that under 20 is when they have the most problems. I don't let mine get under 30 and I never have to worry. And I also have a memory card..

The more memory you have the better your BB will run. That's how I look at it.

I'm up to 26MB now, I followed the guide here:

    http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ee-memory.html

Deleted some themes and pictures and freed up a lot of space. I'm not at the 30MB you have, but I think it's decent for now.
