    Problem with key not responding

Hey, I have a very annoying problem where one of the keys (M key) is not very responsive. I have to press it REALLY hard to make it work. Does anyone have any experience with this type of problem and know how to fix it? Thanks!

I had this problem with an old 8310 that I had a few years back........It had somehow gotten junk under the keypad. I took the phone apart and cleaned the actual keyboard, and voila! This may be your issue, but there may be an issue with the the keyboard.

So, if you are under warranty, I would suggest that you take the phone to your carrier and get a replacement.

Thanks, I suspected this may be the problem. The phone is not under warranty so looks like I will have to pull it apart and clean out the keyboard myself. Never done this before but I will give have it a go. Hopefully I don't break anything else!

There's probably dust inside, when you take it apart be careful and take your time.

I managed to get the cover off and there was a bit of dust and rubbish under the keypad. Cleaned it all out, put the phone back together and... problem solved! Thanks.

@knightberlin.....head over to www.cnn.cn. They're a parts supplier for devices like BlackBerrys, but they also have many instructional videos describing how to disassemble devices. Your profile lists you as having an 8100, but you're in a 85xx forum, otherwise I would've posted a link for you.

BTW, the link is here: http://cnn.cn/shop/video_info.php?video_id=74

Please delete the link if I'm not allowed to post it!
    Thank you.
