Actually I use it all the time. It keeps the trackball lint free, helps keep dust from accumulating under the screen, and it also puts the device into sleep mode.

So it really does help a lot. If you're going to carry your BB in your pocket use the case. Or else you'll be back with all those issues mentioned before.

The goofy thing about it is that it seems "intuitive" to put the Curve in backward. When you're BB is in properly, the camera lens should be covered (keeping out lint) and both blackberry logos should be exposed. Basically, the magnet goes in the front -- same side as the keyboard.

This case would be better if it had a hole/opening for headphones.

It would be nice to have a better case. Lint and dust still get into the top of my phone and cling to the speaker and camera lense even.

That's why there is the after market!!

its the only case i use. Works nicely i don't see any problems with it.. its better than having the phone annoyingly hang on your belt.

Well, yeah, also, anyone did anyone notice how the have it curved on one side but isn't the side that has the light. Very cheap bag imo. It is a you know a free case but they could have put some more effort in it.

Thinking about putting a whole in the bag so I could put my headphones through o.o

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~What is the point of that TMO carrying case? Its useless. No belt clip and feels like you're carrying a soft brick in your pocket. Laaaaammmmmmeeeeeeee.

Does anyone know what it is that makes the phone know its in the holster and make it go into sleep mode?

There is a magnetic sensor in the device located under the space bar. Holsters have magnets in the area to trigger that sensor.

You can find the exact spot by using any regular magnet.

i wouldn't recommend using a regular magnet to try and find the exact location as you could damage your phone if the magnet is too powerful...if you do be careful and do so at your own risk because you may end up bricking the device.

I use the original. My only complaint is that it gets in the way of charging. I also found out the magnet is on the front and back as you can put your curve in either way and it will work ( except upside down lol)
