AT&T has it too, on the main screen, goto Media Net, scroll down to 3 Mail & Messaging, then select the link "Mobile IM", this is OZ Messenger.

does anyone know this is using DATA or SMS?

Its a shame but AT&Ts IMs use sms and instead of data.

Tmobile's OZ messenger uses SMS as well (thank goodness for the unlimited messaging plans on T-Mobile).

I have a great Windows Mobile client iMov that uses IP. I wonder if it can be ported to a Blackberry App now that the 8820 and 8320 will offer wiFi...

Is this true regardless of what program you are using on AT&T? I thought BB Messenger used data rather than SMS. Likewise I thought JiveTalk (which I am trying their trial period now) used data rather than SMS. What is the dealio?

Hey! Tech support at TMO got their test curves today. The tmo curve will not have oz, but a data only instant messaging client (So you will have to have a data plan!) I will try to take alook tomorrow as to what program is on there (as I only got to look at it for a moment today.) (But it only took me 30 sec to connect to the Hotspot@Home router there. Good stuff!)

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~thanks for the heads up. I'm still waiting for our demos to come in for the retail chain. Thanks for the information about the client for I'm as well.

Please let me know if this is true. I'm debating to see what kind of Texting Plan I'm going to get when the 8320 comes out. I know I know unlimited is the way, but if the IMing programs don't use SMS then I think I can get away with the 400 SMS Plan.

    Bump....

I know a lot of Stackers got the 8320 yesterday or earlier. How's that new IM Client? Can anyone confirm if it's using Data or SMS? Thanks
