    Question Outlook contact sync error

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I am on the verg of tears on this issue. I have a Pearl (T-Mobile), a Curve (AT&T) and another Curve (T-Mobile) and I am trying to sync all of my calendar and contact information from MS Outlook. Everything syncs just fine with the Pearl and the the AT&T Curve, but everytime I try to sync the contacts with my T-Mobile Curve, I keep getting an error message that says "Unable to write or update application data". I have removed all of the pictures that I had for the contacts, but that doesn't seem to work. Can someone please help me? I would greatly appreciate it!!!!

    hastafford,

If all of the records are working fine with the other 2 devices lets concentrate on the TMO Curve. I am assuming you have some records on the curve now, and it is likely that one is corrupt. If you dont mind loosing what you have on the phone we need to clear the applications data base. Here is how:

    1. Connect the BlackBerry device to the computer.
    2. In BlackBerry Desktop Manager, open Backup and Restore and click Advanced.
    3. From the Device Databases list, select Address Book and click Clear.
    4. Click OK, and then click Close.
Now reboot and try your sync. Be sure and post back your results!

Thank you so much for the help GaryF! I will give this a try tonight when I get home from work. At this point, I am willing to try anything! I will post back and let you know if it worked.

    Re: Outlook contact sync error

Well, decided to try this on my lunch hour and it didn't work. I am still getting the same error message. Tried all of the steps again and again I get the error message. Any ideas on what I should do next?

    Re: Outlook contact sync error

Well if you cleared the application data base and that did not help....It seems that something on the curve is causing this issue. Do you have any data on it now? You can try the wipe device command (Options>Security>General>Menu) (you will loose all data on the device) or you can try re-installing your operating system. I admit these are a bit of a shot in the dark but sometimes a clean start can go a long way...

Has this curve sync'd before? Is it new? Is it now or has it ever been on a BES?

    Re: Outlook contact sync error

GaryF I can't thank you enough!!! I finally got it to work!! There was a picture on one of my contacts that wasn't showing up in Outlook so I thought I had gotten them all. I took a wild guess and just deleted anything that might be there and sure enough it worked! Thank you so much!!!
